Baby+Toddler= Chaos

Or baby+toddler= alcohol. Whichever. So I never know where I left off in my blogs because I rarely reread them after the day I post them. I can start with the crazy, sassy toddler otherwise known as Stella. She has got the mouth of the south on her (and no we don't swear...anymore)! She just talks and talks and TALKS! I pretty much always  know what she is talking about and I AM happy to have conversations- but dang girl take a breather. This is how my morning typically starts: She walks into my room (while I am still asleep), stares at me until I wake up (a little freaky) the second my eyes open- there she goes. She jumps into full convo talking from anything to Curious George to her babies to her Fisher Price mouse village to Gracie, etc. If I am taking too long to wake up (because yes I do pretend to be asleep sometimes... judge away!) she'll just start talking as well. I come from a family to where we didnt even look at each other let alone talk to each other in the morning. So yes you could say I am definitely not a morning person. But you can't really explain that to a toddler nor would she care! I am forced into joining all this happiness in the morning. :) On a more positive note she is doing very well in the potty training arena again. I would say she is well on her way to being completely potty trained by the end of the summer- which will be nice!

Gracie girl.... she is definitely wild! She gets into everything, puts everything in her mouth, AND is taking steps! YEP she started taking her first steps at the beginning of 10 months. (She will be 11 months in a week.) She currently holds the record for 5 continuous steps! I rarely sit down when Gracie is on the move because I never know what she is going to get into. It is actually very nerve-wracking.

So I found the perfect outfit for Gracie for her 1st Birthday Party (whale themed). The problem: it was sold out everywhere. So what did I do? I found the pattern then researched and found the designer who made the fabric. Now on to sewing it. Let me just tell you I have sewed- however I have NEVER followed a pattern. The following 5 things may or may not have happened when practicing on a proto type while waiting for the fabric to come in:

1. I may or may not  have called my mom over 100 times
2. It may or may not have taken 5 days to make it (I was told it would take just a few hours.)
3. I may or may not have lost my temper and cut off a shoulder strap (button holes are a bitch)
4. I may or may not have broke 3 needles, my button footer, and sewing scissors
5. I  may or may not have been talked out of ( by Mr. Calm himself, D) throwing my sewing machine away

All in all it was a great experience and I just love to sew now (complete and utter sarcasm.) I will and do still plan on making her birthday outfit- but I will maybe need a xanax or 2.

I made this outfit!

Back of outfit I made

Playing at the Park

Wheely Bug Races!

Different day same park!

She'd slide down the slide and say "Ta-da" with her arms out
