So I really do not know what I was thinking when I booked both Stella's 2 year appointment and Gracie's 4 month appointment together! That appointment was definitely eventful and SUPER stressful. First of all you either wait a long time at my doctors office or you are in and out. Well this was a 'long time' kind of visit. Let's me see should I go over the drama or the fun part first... Let's do fun. I think getting their 'stats' is the fun part. Let's start with Gracie!
Gracie
Head- 50%
Height- 97%
Weight- 50% (I know she looks big but she's just tall!)
Stella
Head- 50%
Height- 25%
Weight- LOW
The doctor always tells me to chill out about Stella but it is super stressful. She is naturally small and doesn't gain weight very easily. She has a crazy fast metabolism. I always think- wow she will love this when she gets older! But in the meantime while she is only 2- I would like to see her gain weight much faster! (And no I am not going to chill out! Sorry doc.)
So after stats comes the dreaded shots. I chose to do Stella first because I knew I would have to hold Gracie to console her and Stella is normally pretty tough. Well... Stella flipped her sh#*. She was hysterical and was so sad/ mad I put her down to do Gracie's shots next. Stella was crying in the background saying I don't like shots. It was sad. Luckily, Gracie did much better than last time- but she was still upset. She calmed down so much faster than the first time. It seriously took over 10 minutes to calm my sweet Gracie down the first time at 2 months. The worst part about shots is my doctors office makes us (the parents) help hold them down. I hate that! Oh did I tell you I had to do this all on my own! D was there for the beginning but due to the fact the dr's office was running behind he had to bail right before the shots. Nice timing D.
The rest of the day was pretty rough. My girls typically don't run fevers but they are in pain. They get hysterical when you touch their legs. They were both pretty bad a few hours after the dreaded shots. Stella wouldn't even let me touch her legs and cried when we had to change her diaper- because she was afraid I would touch her leg. It was a 24 hour nightmare!
Stella also limped around the house for a little over a day. It was so sad. She actually still tells me not to touch her leg- but at this point she is being a bit dramatic. She still wakes up from naps and nighttime and cries/whines- 'I don't like shots'. =( I don't blame her, I dislike shots too!
Anyways here is Gracie's 4 month photo. Stella got jealous and wanted her pic taken too. Then it took about 3 seconds for Stella to be over it.
