Stella turned 2 years old this past Thursday... and omg did she love that she could sing happy birthday to herself! She is still telling me "I'm gonna be 2." I keep telling her she IS 2. She'll get it eventually! We celebrated Stella's 2nd Birthday last Saturday by having close friends and family come over. It was really fun. The owl theme was definitely apparent along with all my handmade decorations and party favors. (I'm like turning into susie homemaker over here =)) Each kid got to take home an owl pillow that I made- it took awhile but they turned out so cute. I will put pictures of her party up once I get them.
So Stella's top 5 favorite things right now are:
5. Playing with little ones her size, especially her cousins and sister. She LOVES her cousins. She has a different favorite cousin everyday (they all have been a favorite several times!) She of course loves Gracie as well. She is very concerned about her sister especially when Gracie throws ups or cries. She runs around screaming exactly what Gracie just did over and over until I make everything better. She's my little 'helper'. (And I am using the word 'helper' lightly.)
4. Playing outside. If she could play outside the majority of the day she would be one happy girl.
3. Blocks. She loves blocks and is constantly building new things. When she is searching for the blocks she needs she screams, "I need THIS one!" Everytime she is done with her masterpiece she says, "mama look what I build!" Also there is one big yellow block that only she can use if you take it be prepared for a rumble because she won't stop till she gets her certain block back. All her masterpieces require that one block. Oh and she likes to knock over everyones blocks at the end.
2. Dancing! I don't think this is ever going to fall off the list. She is obsessed with dancing.
1. Frenchy. Her baby, we take her everywhere. She asks me where Frenchy is about 3-10 times a day. If we can't find Frenchy we go into melt down mode. If we ever lost Frenchy I would seriously fly to France and buy her a new one because it would be worth it. Frenchy is definitely her bff.
On to Gracie! Gracie just turned 3 months on Saturday and wow is she big. She wears 6 month clothing and I bet D that Gracie and Stella will where the same size when Gracie is 9 months old. D thinks that they will never wear the same size clothes. Then he retracted and said maybe when they are 4 & 5 years old... He is going to be in for a shocker bc I already know he is going to be wrong- what's new?! ;) Back to Gracie. She is doing great. She is still such a smiler and we can now make her laugh. Before I will admit it was involuntary. Gracie likes her bouncer ok, but really enjoys laying on her playmat grabbing toys and trying to aim them in her mouth. Her FAVORITE thing still is for D or I to talk to her and smile at her! She loves it!
So I went back to look at Stella at 3 months and I now think that Gracie does look like her sister. I definitely do not think she looked like her when she was first born. They had very different looks going on. I love that we have a blond hair with hazel eyes and a brown hair with blue eyes girls! So cute!
