Dear Pacifier,
I miss you as much as Stella does. Maybe even more. But you had to go due to the whole pushing the Stella's teeth forward thing. I will never forget the sleepful nights you provided Stella and myself.
Love,
Sarah
So yes, we had to take the pacifier away or 'pass' as Stella called it. We decided January 1st was going to be the big day. She cried for it for about 48 hours. It was heartbreaking. But even worse- she now cries every nap time and every time she goes to bed for the night. She doesn't cry for the 'pass' but she has absolutely nothing that soothes her anymore. I've tried everything. I now let her cry it out. Which she does for about 2 HOURS!!!! Every. Night. (I should disclose, that I don't let her cry for 2 hours straight. I check on her about every 30 minutes.)
On to potty training. Stella showed signs early on that she wanted to be potty trained- then she lost interest. Well recently (after New Years to a few weeks ago) I have started to press the issue. And I can definitely tell you there will be no more pressing until she is 100% dedicated. We had a few minor accidents and one major. I bought her training undies- because I honestly think pull ups are not my cup of tea and think they don't help the training. So anyways- our major incident (aka my worst nightmare) was when she was upstairs playing and she yelled from the top of the stairs "Mommy I pooped. I pooped mommy." I freaked out. I had absolutely no idea where she was playing. Anyone who knows Stella knows she runs about mock one anywhere and everywhere. So I ran upstairs and I was calmly asking Stella where she pooped (ok so maybe frantically). At this point she had took it upon herself to take off ALL her clothes and she just kept screaming- "mommy I pooped." Ok, I am looking everywhere. I mean everywhere. I am running, crawling, etc. Basically, I'm doing my signature batshit crazy run around the house looking for poop. About 2 minutes later (Stella still screaming she pooped) I finally asked Stella (who was standing on the stairs, naked) where she pooped. She knelt down right in front of me and pooped. And pointed to it. Gotcha. You meant to say you HAD to poop not that you poopED. Noted.
I know this post was all Stella but she seems to be going through the most changes. On a "Gracie" note- Gracie still can't crawl but is still trying. After she mastered rolling she seemed very determined to crawl. Then she took a couple weeks off and is now trying again. I can't even begin to tell you how different my two girls are! I love it!
